Induction lamp technology is an electrode-less variant on the traditional fluorescent lamp. The advantages are excellent light output efficacy coupled with extremely long lamp life with minimal lumen depreciation (80,000 to 100,000 hours as a result of no electrode deterioration).
The technology has progressed from its inception several years ago to become the leading alternative to HID lamp technology for industrial, commercial and public lighting. It provides 3-6 times the lamp life of HID lamps and 2-4 times the light output intensity of LED lighting. It also has the advantage of instant start and restart, making standby lighting and prolonged start times obsolete.
